Jaya is a 9 year old Shetland Sheepdog in Minneapolis, MN, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery for Torn ACL.

Jaya was unique right from the beginning. As a baby puppy he was so outgoing and friendly with everyone he met I knew he was destined to be a Therapy Dog to bring joy to as many as he could. Smart beyond belief, he completed the Therapy Dog training right around his first birthday and soon we were volunteering at a school, then the airport followed by the University of MN.

This spring I noticed Jaya favoring his rear right leg. He wasn't limping but going from a stand to a sit and getting up again was painful. I brought him to my vet who said it was probably a sprain and sent us home. His condition remained unchanged after weeks so I brought him to the expert in animal injury and rehabilitation. She diagnosed him with a torn ACL. He now needs a $4200 surgery.

Jaya is very smart and enjoys lots of stimulation. He has many titles including Advanced Tricks and Advanced Stunt dog titles. He loves to dance with me and his sister, a rough Collie. He likes Reggae music and does the rumba, line dancing, and chorus kicks. He will do anything you ask and has been in three commercials. He gets along with everyone, dog, cat or human and shares his toys willingly

While I am retirement age I can't afford to retire and live on a low income while building up my retirement contributions. I put my dogs first but a $4+thousand surgery is not possible for me to pay. It is crushing to see him hurting like this and unable to run and play.
