Jayden is a 13-year-old Maltese in San Francisco, CA, who needs $2,000 for hernia surgery.

James Z., and his Maltese, Jayden, are in quite a bind.

Jayden started passing blood when he went to the bathroom. James rushed him to Pets Referral Center, where the medical team found he has a perineal hernia that needs to be repaired immediately.

"This unexpected surgery will cost $8290," James tells Waggle. "I have been trying to get insurance for him, but it's too late. I know I made a huge mistake by not getting insurance."

James is trying to raise the money so Jayden can get the life-changing operation.

"My young children love our dog," James says. "He has been like a little boy to us. I sleep with him every night with the kids. He's been a very good dog to us."
