Jeanne is a one-year-old Yorkshire Terrier in Venice, FL, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.

Poor Jeanne was hit by a car and left for dead in the street. "Animal control officers picked her up and called True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission to see if we were willing and able to help her," Lisa L., from the group, tells Waggle. "Of course, we immediately agreed and will do everything we can to help her! She is currently being treated at Davie Veterinary Center."

The medical team discovered Jeanne's injuries are dire, and she needs immediate surgery to repair her crushed pelvis and broken hip. She should be discharged from the animal hospital a few days after her operation and will need 6-8 weeks of cage rest to recover. Jeanne is such a young Yorkshire Terrier; once the rescue can raise the money for the surgery, she's expected to do very well. "We're working hard to get her the surgery so she can live a long and happy life," Lisa says. "Once she recovers from her injuries, we know that she will eventually get adopted into a loving home."
