About this campaign
Jed came to Ocooch Mountain Humane Society as a tiny kitten found near a lumber mill, scared and clinging to his two sisters. He was so frightened it took weeks just to earn his trust. Slowly but surely, Jed began to open up, showing glimpses of the loving cat he was becoming, until he suddenly fell ill.
His energy faded, his appetite disappeared, and something just wasn’t right. The rescue team rushed him to the vet, where initial tests suggested pancreatitis. But things got worse. Jed began suffering grand mal seizures. The heartbreaking diagnosis he now faces is FIP, a serious and often fatal virus that has taken far too many young cats like Jed.
Despite it all, Jed’s spirit shines. He’s gentle and sweet, with eyes that quietly ask for comfort. His foster mom says he’s making progress every day, building trust, resting peacefully, and leaning into affection more and more. Jed is still fighting, and his caretakers believe with everything in them that he deserves a full, happy life.
For the first time, there is now a new legal treatment that fights FIP, giving Jed a real hope, but it's expensive. He’ll need 84 days of daily medication, costing around $400 every few weeks. His caretakers are determined to get him through it, but can’t do it alone. Please consider donating to help Jed continue his journey toward healing and happiness.
