Jethro is a 1.5-year-old Mastiff Bulldog Mix in East Grand Forks, MN, who needs $2,000 for Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) Surgery.

Jethro (then known at the rescue as "Mojo"), was listed on Let Love Live's (LL) rescue page as a stray from Texas. LLL has rescue centers/fosters in Minnesota, Texas and New Jersey. We saw Jethro's picture and immediately fell in love. The rescue was desperate to rehome Jethro as his mother and brother were already adopted and Jethro was going to be sent to a shelter because fosters were full.

We weren't sure how a bully breed would do on a horse ranch, but we knew we had to try. We certainly had room for a big dog. So we treated him like any other big dog we have had on the ranch and Jethro has proven to be an amazing farm dog! He is incredible with our kids who are now 11 and 13 years old, and he has a heart of gold. He is kind to every human and animal he meets.

Jethro and his yorkie mix sister love to play and wrestle. They are the best of friends! Jethro likes to hoard all the toys (and other things that are not his toys, stinker) in his bed and sleep with them. He is a big muscle-y goober with an even bigger heart.

Jethro was seen by our vet Dr. Darin, because he is completely lame on his right rear leg. He will not use it at all and is laying around more because of it. He was diagnosed with a ligament tear that requires surgery. The quote for the surgery and xrays is between $3400-3700. The surgery has a 95+% success rate.

He is our family. But it is hard to come up with darn near $4000 for a medical procedure for a dog. How can we not save our family member with a 95% success rate? How can I walk my dog into the vet to be euthanized when I know he can be fixed? We are sick about it.
