About this campaign

I just moved into my first apartment. My friend Alan, took me to adopt a cat at Bobbi & The Strays in Elmhurst, Queens. When I met Jetta, she was in a cage laying on a pink blanket. She was three years old. The cat lifted herself up and walked over to greet me. I adopted her within weeks. Jetta lives in my one bedroom CoOp and sleeps next to me every night. She refuses to sleep anywhere else.

Jetta had a bladder issue that needed surgery. The proceedure was done, and she was fine. That was when she was younger. Most recently, her voice changed. Because she is very vocal and responds on cue (see the video), I knew that something was wrong. Jetta was diagnosed with a tumor in her lower intestines. It is unclear if the growth is malignant or begnin. The surgery could cost 9,000.

Jetta is extremely talkative. If you ask her a question, immediately the answer is, "meow". She is rarely ever quiet. She will wake you up for food, and as soon as you come home, she demands food. Jetta also can say the word, "hello".

I am a librarian for Brooklyn Public Library. I wish that the job pays more, but it doesn't.
