About this campaign
8 years ago Jiffy came into our lives through a puppy raising volunteer program with Canine Companions. I raised her from 4 months to a year old and had to stop because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately Jiffy didn’t become a service dog but we ended up adopting her back. A month ago she started developing a swelling on her face that was later diagnosed as Malignant Melanoma.
We are seeking help with her cancer treatments that currently include chemotherapy and could eventually move to radiation. Due to the location of the cancer it is not able to be removed surgically.
Jiffy is a beautiful soul and she has been my disabled son’s constant companion. She doesn’t bark and wouldn’t hurt anyone. In fact my daughters puppy came to visit with so much energy Jiffy turned her back and hid because she was afraid of the puppy.
We are desperate for funding as my son has a terminal condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. All of our money goes to his care. I have already paid for all of the diagnostic work up for her.
