About this campaign
After my long marriage ended I needed a companion. My brother and I went to look at some 8 week old chiweenies because I wanted a little dog. The owner brought out this huge puppy named Thunder because he was the biggest in the litter. I was about to ask to see the smaller puppies when my brother said I needed to take this one. So I did. He’s now Joey and we live with Madison, my chihuahua.
Joey is an extreme empath. He’s my emotional support animal and he has saved me so many times over the last 2 years. It’s just me and my two fur babies right now. Joey loves his fur sister Madison and is a great big brother. They’ve been together for 9 years and are inseparable. She’d be lost without him. So would I.
The last couple of years have been horrible for me. I had periods of homelessness and financial devastation after my last relationship with an abusive narcissist ended after 6 years. I lost everything and all my family and friends. But I had Joey and Madison. Joey is completely in tune with my emotions. If I cry or get upset he immediately comes to offer me comfort. He has saved my life.
Joey has a tumor in his abdomen that is growing. His vet, Dr Shannon Grimsley-Dolan at Banfield Pet Hospital here in Fayetteville wants to biopsy it and make a recommendation. Joey actually has other small tumors and I’m afraid there may be one in his throat. He has always been there for me and I desperately need to be there for him now.
I’m a 100% disabled veteran struggling to recover from a very bad situation and rebuild my life. After 2 divorces, homelessness and financial devastation I can’t afford high vet bills. I can’t lose Joey…I just can’t.
