Jones is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Davisburg , MI, who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy and Laminectomy.

Jones has been apart of my and Andrew’s life for the past 9 years. He was actually in the picture before I was. Andrew has raised Jones from a puppy. He’s been through everything with us. He moved across the country to Florida, and again back to Michigan with us. He went through a Hurricane with us, and everything in between.

Currently, Jones has IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease), which roughly translates to a slipped/ruptured disc in his back. He doesn’t have the ability to use his back legs, cannot go to the bathroom on his own (he can go, but we have to carry him outside). The good news is he doesn’t seem to be in pain, just has the paralysis in his legs. We are working with Blue pearl pet neurology for treatment.

For lack of better words, Jones is one of the most human like dogs I have ever met. He is the most protective, loyal, and charismatic pet. He is a gentle giant to everyone he meets (he’s got a loud bark, but he’s scared of his own farts). He will argue with you for carrots and sweet potatoes, and has a particular love for his stuffed pineapple. We joke that he’s a toddler trapped in a dogs body.

We have tried the medicated route but it’s not working as we’d hoped, with the next step being surgery, it’s just an expense we can’t afford. It has a 85% chance of being successful, it’s just a bill we can’t afford. Jones is like a son to us, and we just want him healthy.
