Josie is a 3 year old Labrador Retriever in Bogalusa, LA, who needs $2,000 for Trauma: Bite wounds Treatment/Surgery.

Josie was born from a mom (Izsabelle) that had been rescued from hospital across from a local park. Her mom escaped from a fenced in yard due to a careless guest who left the gate improperly unlocked and her mom (Izzy) escaped and when she returned, Josie had been conceived. Her name derived from me not having any children of my own so I gave her my dad's 1st initial coupled with my mom's name.

Josie was attacked by a pit-bull who sliced open her underarm area & pierced her in a few different areas of her body but did not latch on but, did tremendous damage to her right under arm area with a major skin abrasion & deep lesion resulting in an open wound. She needs some anesthesia with surgery to repair the deep tissue/muscle damage and surgical sutures to close the wound plus meds!

Josie being a small dog has a big heart. She absolutely adores her mom (Izsabelle) and she cuddles and shadows her mom because of their bond and Josie also takes care of her mom and they share a close-knit mother/doggher friendship. She also enjoys playing tag with her brother Issachar who is also Izsabelle's son. Josie also takes care of her brother just like her mom!

This is an unexpected major expense because I have had these dogs since 2017 (Josie since 2021) and have never encountered any expenses for their care in an "emergency" situation. Working outdoors except in winter, I budget for the norm unlike this unforeseen turn of events.
