Josie is a 4-year-old Shepherd/foxhound/other stuff in Rochester, NY, who needs $2,000 for wound debridement.

Josie is a rescue! She originally came from Kentucky, where we don't really know what her story was. Blue Moon Meadows, a small rescue operation near Rochester, NY, brought her up to Western NY. When she met me the first thing she did was excitedly lick my face. The second thing she did was roll onto her back so that she could receive belly rubs. She currently lives in downtown Rochester.

Josie lives in an apartment in downtown Rochester, which has a pretty sweet dog park on the third floor! She enjoys going to the fenced-in dog parks at Henrietta and Ellison Park, and likes going on runs! (generally under 65 degrees is preferable). Josie always excitedly comes to the door with her tail wagging when I come home, and LOVES guests (especially my mom/her grandma).

Needless to say, this is an unanticipated expense. In general I am able to provide plenty of things to give Josie a happy life, including daycare, exercise, dog park memberships, vet care, and LOTS of toys. I just need a little help to get my best friend get over this hump.

Josie was running around in the park and it seems like she ran into a stick. There was a wound under her armpit, which the emergency vet stitched up very nicely. Later there was a new wound lower on her belly, and the vet found a small leftover piece of the stick down there. Josie is being treated by the amazing staff at Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services in Brighton, NY.

Josie LOVES snow! She can't get enough of prancing and bounding through it. She is also fast, like a fur-covered bullet, so sprinting around in big parks is something she loves/needs. Josie used to be afraid of the water, but then she befriended a golden retriever so she had to learn to swim in order to keep up—now she loves chasing after tennis balls in the water!
