About this campaign

Junior, now lovingly called June Bug, was found in heartbreaking conditions—chained and padlocked to cinder blocks, left outside with no food or water. X-rays showed he had eaten sand just to survive. He was malnourished, dehydrated, and days from death when Unconditional Love for Strays stepped in to save him from this life of suffering.

Since his rescue, June Bug has started his long road to recovery. He was transported from another state and immediately given urgent medical care. Vets discovered intestinal worms and heartworm disease. He’s slowly gaining strength and weight, but his treatment is ongoing, and the medical expenses continue to rise with every visit.

Despite all he’s endured, June Bug is gentle and full of love. He doesn’t know how to play with toys, likely because he’s never had one. But he’s learning what it means to be safe and loved. His personality is beginning to shine through, and his rescuers believe he’s finally starting to understand that he’s no longer alone.

Unconditional Love for Strays is dedicated to giving June Bug the life he deserves, but they can’t do it alone. Extreme neglect cases like his come with heavy costs. Every donation, no matter the size, helps cover his care. Please consider giving or sharing his story to help Junior heal and find the future he’s always deserved.
