About this campaign
I found Junior in the middle of a street about 9 years ago. He was infested with fleas and had puffy paint in his ear . He wasn't chipped or fixed. After about 15 minutes of growling at me while I kneeled in the middle of the street, he finally walked up up my knees into my arms. Junior has been attached to me ever since.
Junior is not able to be picked up due to the pain it causes him . He used a doggie ramp to get up and down off the bed. Any wrong landing from heights can leave him paralyzed I. The future. This limits the amount of play he is able to do. Walks are only given based on his daily display of pain or lack of.
Junior has been diagnosed with IVDD or intervertebral disc disease. He has extreme episodes of back pain and spasms. These episodes can lasts up to 16 hours. He currently takes medication daily for pain and inflammation as well as anxiety. These meds given daily and as needed seem to be managing his pain.
Junior has seen multiple vets over the years including a neurologist, all of whom could not determine what was wrong with Junior. Last year I took him to Wagly and Dr. Sallee determined he had IVDD after looking at old X-rays from the previous vet. Junior is currently under the care of the vet staff at Wagly in Tustin, California.
I am a school session employee so I only receive a paycheck 9 months a year. I also have been on medical leave due to complications after a heel fracture a little over a year ago so I’m only receiving half of my regular pay.
