About this campaign
Junior was my husbands cat before we got married. Junior was only about 8 months when I met him almost 14 years ago. Junior is a family cat who lives with 3 human siblings, his human parents and dog and cat siblings. Junior has been a mostly healthy cat throughout his life after a bout of urinary tract issues from his earlier years. He has always been the most outgoing cat who wants to be close by.
Junior has always had what we refer to as a "tender little cat heart". Whenever a family member or other pet is ill, Junior is right there to comfort them. He has an exceptional patience for our children and even in his senior years engages in play with them. Junior is often waiting for us at the door when we arrive home from work or school. He has a distinct meow and loves to chat with us.
We have lost a significant portion of our savings due to the pandemic. With the savings went our emergency veterinary fund we had set aside. The cost of his treatment is out of our reach without it.
Junior was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism almost 3 years ago. He has been taking medication (methamizole) orally for the years following his diagnosis. His recent bloodwork showed despite medication, his thyroid levels were still too high. Junior went from a once very solid cat to a cat who has an insatiable appetite who has lost a significant amount of weight. Dr. Cody, Dr. Rachel at Furry Friends.
Junior's chatty and social personality really make him special. His loud purr can be heard across the room. Junior loves to chase a laser light and roll in catnip. Though there are times we know he may feel a little sluggish, he is still there to comfort and stay close by to his family. He can often be found at night going from bed to bed to make sure each family member is okay.
