Elizabeth didn’t “pick” Junior the usual way—she found him 14 years ago sitting in the middle of a busy residential street. He was matted, had fleas, and no microchip. Elizabeth did what she always tries to do when she sees a dog loose: she stopped to help and looked for an owner. She got down on her knees, waited patiently, and Junior eventually came to her.

Junior is a 14-year-old Papillon and Chihuahua mix who’s dealing with a tough combination: a worsening collapsed trachea with frequent coughing, plus severe matting that’s now painful and impossible to fix at home.

Junior is my emotional support animal and has been by my side through 3 moves, family tragedies, employment changes and a divorce over the last 14 years.

Junior is already on four different medications that I am committed to monthly. Due to my own medical conditions, I am unable to pay for Juniors sedation to remove the matted due and cut his nails.
