Someone discovered the young kitten outside with deep, painful, maggot-infested wounds on his backside.

The Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge raced him to an animal hospital.

"The wounds are deep, and Jupiter is in pain," Amy H., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle.

Jupiter was rushed into emergency surgery to clean his wounds and remove the larvae. Then, his blood pressure plunged, leaving him severely anemic and unstable. Jupiter needs a blood transfusion to undergo another surgery to amputate his necrotic, degloved tail safely.

The tiny kitten racked up a huge hospital bill, and the rescue group hopes animal lovers will help rescue them by giving to Jupiter's campaign.
