Jutta is a nine-month-old German Shepherd puppy in Atascadero , CA, who needs $1,484 for hip replacement surgery.

Jutta is just nine months old and is already in such agony from hip dysplasia her only hope is a double hip replacement!

"She is living in pain, and without surgery, her quality of life is very bad," Jason B., Jutta's human dad, tells Waggle. "We worked hard to do our due diligence before we bought her. Jutta's parents are both certified with good hips and elbows. This has been heartbreaking and a surprise to us."

Jason is struggling to come up with all the money for her unexpected operation. The medical team at VCA Animal Specialty Group is ready to help Jutta.

"They will need to do one hip at a time with a recovery time of about three months in between," Jason says. "We love this dog and don't want to euthanize her. The cost of the treatment is a lot, and we want to help her. According to our vet, she can live a full and active life after this surgery. She has many years ahead of her that we want to help provide."

Jason's family has fallen in love with Jutta, and they are crushed. "Jutta is a member of our family and interacts so well with people and other pets. She is very attentive to everyone with a wonderful personality that greets you at the door with a smile. She loves to play in the yard but enjoys being inside with the family the most. She loves her toys and playing fetch and tug of war. Her pain has limited her play for sure, which is hard to see," Jason says.
