Kadence is on the road to recovery but still needs your help!

Kadence was found aimlessly running around the streets, covered in filth and being eaten alive by flies. She could barely manage to walk in a straight line, her legs so constricted by mats that they felt like heavy weights pulling her down. One look at her and you know—she hasn't been able to depend on anyone for a very long time. Her body tells the story of neglect: weathered, tired, malnourished

It's heartbreaking to think that Kadence might have once belonged to someone, someone who abandoned her and left her to suffer. Her legs were in terrible shape, especially the front ones. Her hair had overgrown and twisted around her limbs in a gruesome, tight grip, like rubber bands constricting more each day. No matter how much she chewed the mats wouldn’t loosen. They had become a prison.

We rushed her to our medical team and began the long process of grooming her so we could see the extent of the damage. Underneath, her body doesn’t look great. Her legs are traumatized from being bound by those mats for so long. Now, we’re putting together a treatment plan, but we know its going to be a long journey of medication, therapy, diagnostics, and, most importantly, love.

Kadence has recovered from all her physical injuries, been spayed and vaccinated. She is still working on her trust of humans but is improving daily. She is listed for adoption and looking for her forever home. Her foster said, "Kadence is doing great! She’s not bitey and scared anymore. She went on her first outing yesterday and loved the attention."
