About this campaign
Working as an archeologist, I
spent many nights in hotels while working on different projects. On my way home from a project, I passed by an ASPCA, and decided to make a stop! I adopted in Oct 2008 when she was 4 months, and we have been on many adventures together since then. Kande means 1st born in Asante. I recently discovered her love for cornbread when I caught my sister giving her some!
Kande was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma, which is curable with treatment. It has caused other health issues which she is being treated for. I have found a charity that may be able to help with the treatment, but too much time has passed and they are requiring her to be re-diagnoised. The Virginia Vetinary Center office visit and testing to get the diagnosis is around $2500.
I have been processing through some health issues over the past few years, and Kande has been right there with me. She brings me comfort and cuddles on days that I am not feeling my best. When I moved away from family and friends, she was always at home waiting for me, and greeted me with excitement when I walked in the door.
I have only been able to find part-time work since I have moved back home, which covers my bills, Kande's vet appointments and medications. My family has helped, but are no longer able to financially with Kande's care.
