Kanelo is a 7 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in West Springfield, VA, who needs $4,500 for CCL Tear Repair Surgery.

Kanelo came into our lives in February 2019 from Wolf trap Animal Rescue in Northern Virginia. I was a foster for this organization and once I saw his picture , we knew he belonged with us. He was rescued from Southern Mississippi with his littermates that were left on the side of the road. Kanelo lives with his fur sister Khaleesi and his fur cousin Max in Northern Virginia.

Kanelo is a corgi mix who has really short legs l. His front leg is a little crooked but adds to his charm. Kanelo is very active and as such suffered a partial tear in his left back leg in September 2025. At this time we were able to finance his surgery and we thought we would be ok. As fate would have it he now has a partial tear on his right back leg. His vet is Mainstay Veterinary Practice.

Kanelo is truly one of the loves of my life. His crazy matches my crazy. He is a loyal dog with those he loves. He is a feisty pup but we know he loves us and would protect us from anything. He adores his fur family members and just brings so much joy to our lives. We named him Kanelo in honor of the Mexican boxer Canelo who is also a ginger . Canela means Cinnamon in Spanish so Kanelo fits perfec

I was furloughed for 43 days last fall and it has really taken us a long time to get back on our feet. My other dog is 10 years old and is having medical issues of her own with renal disease. At this time I can't pay for the surgery and cover my other dogs medical needs.
