Katie is a 4 year old American Shorthair in Sebastopol, CA, who needs $2,000 for Feline Dental with Extraction.

Katie came to our back door as a feral and immediately let us pet her. Soon after, we found our neighbor, Kathy petting her and she looked up at us and said "don't you want this sweet cat". Our first thought was " no we are retired we can't afford pets anymore. We soon loved her and named her "Katie". It took 8 months for Katie sleep at night in our home.

When we knew Katie for a month we had to trap her to get neutered, inoculated, and an overall exam. After we let her go, happily she came right back. After a year she had an UTI infection, it was expensive at the emergency vet they also found Gingivitis. We tried teeth cleaning items, Then now, 3 months later our vet examined Katie, and found severe Gingivitis , needing her teeth removed.

Katie loves her many balls that we roll around the house. And also putting them through her "tunnel". She is a great climber and goes rapidly up a tree or up her inside cat pole. She loves to roll back and forth outside in the sun while you rub her tummy. And she stays inside all night now and cuddles with us on the couch. She brings us so much joy we would not be able to part with her!

We are retired although we work part of the time. I take as many substitute jobs as I have the energy for at 72 . And even though my husband is legally blind he works on the computer . Vet bills are competing with our dental and medical bills but hope to squeak by
