Katie is a 10 year old American Cocker Spaniel in South Yarmouth , MA, who needs $2,000 for Lateral Suture Surgery.

Katie is a senior rescue. Unfortunately, she lived in an abusive situation and, as a result, was re-homed on several occasions. With patience, love and understanding Katie was able to flourish and grow into a very sweet and fun-loving girl.

Last month, Katie developed a limp in her right hind leg. Following sedated x-rays, it was discovered that Katie is in need of lateral suture surgery to repair a torn ligament. This was likely caused by jumping off furniture or stepping down into a hole. I am told the surgery is fairly common and, in most cases, yields fantastic results elongating and improving the quality of her life!

Rescued at the end of 2019, Katie was my constant - and only - companion during the Covid pandemic. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through complete isolation for months on end without her!

Unprepared for a significant, emergency surgery, I am happy to exhaust my savings but will still fall short of the funds required for this necessary medical procedure. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
