I got Kato a few years ago as a pup from a Kijiji ad. It was a student couple who decided they didn’t have time for him. Kato is a gentle giant. He’s very laid back, yet asserts his dominance with pride and demands respect. With his beautiful fur and markings, many say he’s very regal and elegant. I’d have to agree. He loves my nephews and is an excellent mentor to the pups I’ve fostered throughout his life. He has a dog sister, Kara. He’s protective of her and is the only pup he’s comfortable cuddling.

This boy LOVES his food! With being part husky you’d expect him to howl and “talk” more, but I only get scolded if I’m out too long, or when it’s time to eat. He wakes me up every morning eager to start the day - aka. Unbeknownst to me, Kato ate some gauze from my dad’s medical supplies. We went to Thunder Bay vet clinic during emergency hours, and began diagnostics. With that we had enough evidence to identify he had a foreign body in his stomach. I approve surgery bc I wasn’t going to spare a dime. I needed to do what I could to save him. With it not even being a year since I lost my mom, trying to manage my dads medical care on top of managing my own injury from a severe MVA at work, I will struggle for a long time to pay this off. I wouldn’t have changed saving my kato regardless
