About this campaign
I received Katybear for my birthday and she was 8 weeks old. She has been with me for 11 years. Katybear is an AKC long hair Rottweiler . I was at the gas station a couple years before I got her and was talking to a little girl. I asked her what her name was and it was Katy so I told her I was naming my dog Katy because it was beautiful . Long hair she looked like a bear,Katybear.
Katybear has always slept in my bed. My 4 year old granddaughter & Katybear are best friends, she has the neighbors trained to bring her a treat, She loves walking in the woods, swimming and has made friends with the deer in the neighborhood and I have found her out laying in the yard with the deer. Been trying to get a pic but deer don't trust me like Katybear so they run off.
I had lung cancer twice, lost 2 lobes of lung. I also have heart problems with clogging arteries. I am trying to get on disability.
Katybear was acting like she had a urinary infection. I took her to the vet. She has a large bladder stone with a urinay infection caused by the stone. We tried to feed her a special food that dissolves stones for around 12 weeks,no luck.Needs surgery. Trinity Animal Hospital in Weaverville, Ca will perform the surgery. I trust Tom Nickerson, I wouldn't want anyone else to save my girl.
Katybear has her own cat. The cat was a little feral when I first got her but she took right to Katybear and finally after 5 years let me in her life. Katybear when I received my granddaughter at birth took right to her and wherever Sofia was, Katybear was right there. Loves snow & swimming. Barks at fireworks and gun shots during hunting season. Very friendly & she is my best friend.
