About this campaign

I can still remember the day "we" got Kaya. It was my wife's birthday. She came to pick me up from work and she had the tiniest little kitten in her lap. I was furious! We already had two cat's and we certainly didn't need a third one! Or so I thought. It didn't take long for her to melt my heart and now I can't stand the thought of losing her!

Kaya loves to lay on us and every night when we get ready for bed, she can be found lying on my wife or me. She likes giving her older brother baths. She's tiny but fearless! She is always the first to explore or investigate something and she always manages to climber the highest and reach places you thought were impossible.

Kaya's favorite activity is treats! She is a clever one! She has realized that she can leave her bowl of treats and sneak over to munch on her sibling's bowl of treats. For some reason the two males don't raid her bowl.
We haven't had her spayed because of her heart condition. When she is in heat, she loves to have her butt patted vigorously. She responds with a deep low growl of satisfaction.

Kaya was born with a treatable heart defect called Patent ductus arteriosus. PDA is a medical condition in which the ductus arteriosus fails to close after birth. She needs heart surgery. The estimate was 4500-6500 dollars. Without the surgery she faces congestive heart failure or blood clots resulting in a stroke. Cats with this condition usually manifest serious complications between 2-4 years

In the last 3 months I've been diagnosed as needing cataract surgery. My wife and my car both broke down. Hers was repaired but I had to buy a new vehicle. My wife has lost her ssi disability and we are struggling just to make ends meet.
