About this campaign
I started fostering Kenna when she was 3 weeks old. She was a wee little kitten whose back legs didn’t work. She was also incontinent. The vet at the shelter suspected spinal trauma. Kenna’s left hind leg was amputated but that didn’t stop this girl’s feisty spirit. After 2 months of taking care of Kenna through multiple medical issues, her foster period was over. Two days later, I adopted her.
Because of her mobility issues, and for safety, Kenna has her own playpen. The other cats come and visit her and she loves it. Kenna also plays in boxes and her favorite place, the bathtub. She is the sweetest cat and has captured the heart of my entire family.
Kenna has been through so much yet she’s still just as sweet and spirited as ever. She adores Churu and gets the zoomies afterwards. Kenna also squeaks when she plays with her fuzzy mice. This is her way of saying, “I’m having fun!”
Kenna needs to have her other back leg removed. It’s causing pain and discomfort to her and she’s on medication to help. She bites it when it’s bothering her. This hurts my heart. The Susan M Merkel Veterinary Hospital has placed her on the urgent surgery list.
The cat that started out as a foster cat, quickly became my soul cat. That’s why I went back to adopt her after my foster period ended. I live on a fixed income due to Multiple Sclerosis + can’t afford the surgery bill. I don’t want her to be in pain anymore.
