Kiah is an 11-year-old Siberian Husky in Manchester, CT, who needs $2,000 for intestinal blockage with a resection.

Kiah came into our life 11 years ago with her "sister" Misty, an Australian Shepard, they are only a week apart in age. They were freed from a pet store in a mall. They were standing next to each other looking for their owner to come. Alice saw them and could not choose so she made a deal for both. Over the eleven years we have come to know her language and what she wants to communicate.

She is a very loving, giving and loyal dog. Kiah lives with two other dogs and two cats and gets along with all. Kiah has no problem when one of the cats walks by her and rubs against her affectionately. She'll also put the 4 year old border collie in his place when he is getting to rambunctious. Alice's mother lives with us , she's 104 years old and Kiah loves to give her a daily greeting .

I have been laid off due to COVID, when things will return to normal, right now is unknown. I am collecting unemployment and we were just told our chimney needs to be repaired(cracks & leaks). Our mornings were quite with Kiah not cajoling us to "get ready and take us out.

Kiah had to go to Bolton Veterinary Hospital in Bolton, Ct. , initially to check her out. She had been vomiting since the night before. They did a barium swallow but it was moving so slowly they decided to go in surgically. It's then they found a blockage in her intestines which had traveled quite far down. We are very grateful to Dr. Edward Grace for his investment into Kiah's recovery.

Kiah's eyes are what does it. They are very expressive and emote a lot of emotion. Her talking is very challenging, she lets you know what she wants. When the other dogs get excited and begin to bark Kiah tends to hold back and then all of a sudden she begins to howl and cuts any tension and makes us laugh. whenever she needs anything she has that look you can't resist.
