King is a 7-year-old Staffy Mix in Gatineau, QC, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.

King is the sweetest boy, a Staffy mix who came into our lives 2.5 years ago as a rescue. His first few years of life were filled with abuse and neglect but even after all of this trauma, he is so loving, gentle, and a sensitive soul.

Everywhere he goes, King makes friends -both human and furry -with his sparkling personality. He makes the neighbors smile as he greets them, will hug you when he senses you are upset. He loves wearing his hoodies, and struts when he has a new one to show off. His favorite treat is his beef, but will whine at the fridge if he knows there's whip cream. He is truly my ray of sunshine.

There's not enough space here to convey how special King is, to describe all the little things he does - like how he asks for hugs or how gentle he is, especially with elderly people & small animals, how he likes to watch the fish when we go to the pet store, how he talks to 'his' bunny (a netherland dwarf) or the love you feel when he looks at you with those big eyes and smiles at you.

Dec 13th we had to rush King to the hospital. It was found that he had internal bleeding from a tumor. His vet feels that he has a positive prognosis based on the diagnostics that have been done so far, IF he gets this surgery in time. There is an immediate risk of him bleeding to death, so time is running out.
He is now under the care of Dr. Robert Ostrowski at the Nepean Animal Hospital

King is my emotional rock. Last few months have been really rough - traumatic death in the family and job loss, among other things. We may have rescued him, but he has saved me from slipping into a deep depression and I can't give up on him without a fight.
