King has been with me for the last 6 years. I thought that I was rescuing him from a horrible situation where he was living out of a car and being neglected; however, he rescued me that day. He has been a source of light and joy every day since. It was just the two of us for the first 2 years, then my son abandoned his pit bull, Little Baby, with us about 4 years ago. They are thick as thieves.

King got sick in November of 2024 with a herniated bowel. He had to have surgery to live. I raised the money finally in February 2025. He spent Valentine's Day at the Andrews vet clinic having surgery. Not even a month later, he developed another hernia. So now he needs surgery again. He is in constant pain, and it is horrible to watch.

He’s more than a pet; he’s family. He’s my lifeline. Lil Baby and he are incredibly bonded. I am so worried that she won't make it if he doesn't. King is more loyal than most humans and loves unconditionally; he deserves to live the rest of his life pain-free. He has brought nothing but joy and happiness, and I just want to return a little bit of that back to him.

I make $13 an hour, and I struggle to pay my bills. I do the best I can; however, I don't have it. If I can't raise the money, I will have to put him down. It isn't kind to let him suffer like this for months; it is so sad to watch. I know he hopes for a miracle, so do I.
