King (Tut) is a 5-year-old Lab Mix in Tacoma, WA, who needs $1,453 for dressing changes and leg amputation.

King came to our home as a rescue puppy in August of 2014. He immediately bonded with our dog Miley. She was a cute Lab/Maltese mix 1 yr older than him and immediately took him under her wings. A truly bonded pair. My wife and I are at an age that we both have grown adult children who have left so our dogs have been our joy in the home. They would always greet us at the door with excitement and to our non-surprise we would sometimes discover their mischievous activities in our absence. Miley passed away on Sept 11, 2019 and King misses her dearly. They both escaped the confine of our fenced in yard and were hit by a vehicle on a nearby busy street. Miley was instantly loss. I arrived at the scene just seconds afterwards and found King standing over Miley. He appeared stunned and shocked and had a s evere leg injury. I immediately transported him to the ER Vet. The next day we took him to Value Pet where the X-ray revealed further terrible news. We were told that his leg would need to be amputated and a long rehab period would follow. After losing Miley there is no way we are going to give up on our King. We are prepared to do whatever necessary to keep our "Big Boy."
