Kira is a 5-month-old Pitbull in Austin, TX, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

Our two older kids grew up with Mj, our last pit, but she passed from cancer. Our kids have been wanting a new dog ever since. So we got Kira last year as a Christmas present. We have been taking good care of her and everything was going well until she got a hold of something that has made her sick. She wont eat or drink water has been vomiting continuously, and her vet suggested surgery ASAP.

Kira is a great puppy she sleeps with the kids who adore her. However she is still being potty trained so they take turns to clean up the mishaps. Kira gets to come with my wife to pick up the kids from school everyday and they all go to the park.

Her favorite thing to do is play with the kids and chase them around in the yard. She is afraid of all loud noises. She is supposed to be a tough pitbull but she’s a big baby and as sweet and gentle as can be.

This is an emergency she has an intestinal blockage so she will die without surgery. We are hoping for full recovery after surgery and will not require long term treatment. She is being treated at VCA in Elgin who has been her vet since the day we brought her home.

We are able to cover the routine appointments but this is a very large unexpected bill. Kira being healthy means the world to us she is family. Our kids have been devastated with this situation as we can’t afford the surgery and had to have a tough conversation with them.
