Kishi is a 1-year-old Australian Cattledog in Tucumcari, NM, who needs $2,000 for Pelvic Reconstruction/Replacement.

Kishi is a happy and very loved dog. She resides in a small town with a big walled backyard she runs with her hooman-sister, and hundreds of miles of hiking in the NM prairie. She has a dog-husband, Rufus, who is just beside himself with her absence now going on a week. She is keeps her dad, my husband busy when he's not out of town for work, with lots of asking for long walks.

Kishi's name in Japenese means 'seashore' and that she starts every one of our days with a wave of energy before a mid-morning nap. She is my joy in such hard times for my family already. I am in progression stage of my Crohn's and it has been having disabling effects. Kishi helps to keep me smiling through painful days, with her silly antics and her love for our other furbaby, Rufus.

Kishi is very sensitive to emotions. Our other furson was rescued from an abusive home along with 5 other dogs, 4 years ago. He has struggled with male aggression towards all men he's encountered, including my husband. Kishi senses this and is very quick to be at his side, covering him in kisses and even sitting right on top of him, to calm him down. Since, he no longer barks at my husband!

Unfortunately, we experienced a trespasser onto our well walled and gated backyard, by reaching over our fence. I was notified by Rufus crying at the door, a wide open back gate, and blood down my driveway alongside. I called police and they had found Kishi injured 4 blocks from the house, dragging her hind, with rufus protecting her to get back home. She was taken by police to Dr Corey .

Unfortunately, this break-in couldn't have happened at a worse time, as Kishi accompanied us on our 1st trip to the ocean for our late 10 year marriage (march '20) Also had to hit a tow ramp abandoned on the I25, was boxed in by semis. That came with a $3k w/lost wages price
