About this campaign

KitKat was an abandoned kitten brought home by my daughter from outside her workplace. He was scared initially but soon fit in with the rest of our rescues: 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 house bunnies, & 3 birds.
KitKat especially adores our older dog, Ice, & loves to cuddle with him. Our 2 cats have learned to tolerate Kit's silly and sassy antics. Our family is constantly entertained by him!

When KitKat first began limping, we thought he injured his hind leg or had Lymes disease. After a couple of vet visits and an X-ray, we were told he has a rare condition among cats called Legg Calve Perthes. It's a progressive disease that causes the top of femur bone that meets the hip to die/decay and lameness.
Dr. Naseem at Aquebogue Veterinary Hospital is willing to do the surgery for $2,000.

Our family wasn't looking to take in another pet, but KitKat stole our hearts from Day 1! He is mischievous, active, & independent.
He climbs effortlessly, even up trees and onto our roof occasionally.
Kit stalks our other 2 cats and pounces on them many times in a day, to their dismay :).

With 4 kids and our 10 rescues, it's difficult to get by (also recent car repairs, my Great Pyrenees needing bloodwork and tests to treat ongoing symptoms, etc. ). KitKat needs this surgery ASAP, and I just don't have the amount needed right now. I want him to be pain-free.
