Kitten is a 13-year-old Siamese mix in Toronto, ON, who needs $1,115 for blood tests, x-rays, surgical consultation.

Kitten came into our life unexpectedly 7 years ago, after her former owner passed away suddenly. We now could not imagine our lives without Kitten, as she's become such a part of our small family. She is clever and energetic; always asking for pets and treats. Last year we got a second cat, Mango, who Kitten has recently warmed up to.

Kitten loves a sunny patch during the day; you can find her in her little window hammock most days, but she also loves the top of the cat tree, and her hidey holes throughout our home. Her favourite spot is on her dad's chest or stomach, after she is sure she has kneaded it into the perfect spot for snoozing. Between naps she loves to zoom around the apartment, and bunny kicking her toys.

Due to the strain of the global pandemic, we are under a lot of financial stress, as a young couple. One of us is still working, but one of us has been laid off indefinitely and does not know if or when they can return to work.

We found a lump on Kitten's stomach summer 2020, and got it checked out at our local vet. They referred us to Toronto Central Veterinary Referral Clinic to have an oncologist look at it. They have confirmed that it's cancer, and she will require surgery. We love Kitten very much, and this surgery could extend her life by almost 3 years.

There truly is no other cat like Kitten. She is a Siamese mix with stunning eyes and a gorgeous, soft coat. She's a quirky one, who will hop like a fox for treats -- we call them her "tiny hops". You know she's happy when her pur really gets going; you can hear her from across the room. Sometimes when she's sleeping she'll wheeze the tiniest amount that we always investigate and smile about.
