About this campaign
Kiwi came into our life as a puppy from a family member who wasn’t able to care for her at the time. She’s accompanied by her older sister, a mixed terrier named Luna who came from the same situation basically. She’s in an out of the house exploring our backyard and she has a favorite chair in the house she likes to window watch out of.
Kiwi had an emergency abdominal surgery for a foreign object, and it was a whole walnut! We don’t have any walnut trees around our house or our walks so we’re assuming a squirrel dropped it in our backyard and she got a hold of it. The surgery was successful but caused her hip dysplasia to progress rapidly from being down for 2 weeks. Her surgery was done at Viking Veterinary Hospital.
Kiwi is an independent little husky and stubborn. We’ve had to completely lock up all our trash cans because she’s resembles Oscar the Grouch from sesame street, loves trash! She’s a little baby at heart though, loves to lay on our bed and the rocking chair designated in our living room for her. She’s very curious and gentle with kids and she hates to admit but admires her sister Luna.
This surgery was a sudden and expensive one. We weren’t able do much physical activity for 2 weeks during recovery, and now her hip dysplasia is worse than ever. I’m hoping if we get this paid off we can start physical therapy and see her build that muscle back.
