About this campaign

My heart is heavy as I share that my four legged best friend, Koa, needs help. We’ve been inseparable for nearly 10 years since I rescued him as a 4-month-old from the San Diego Humane Society. Koa has been a central part of our lives ever since. Koa is a gentle soul who’s brought us endless joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Now, Koa needs us as he battles a tough diagnosis.

We recently discovered a lump on Koa's thigh, initially hoping it was a pulled muscle. After further testing, it was identified as a likely soft-tissue sarcoma, possibly a subcutaneous hemangiosarcoma. This aggressive cancer may have spread, which we’ll soon find out. If contained, we can explore surgery or even amputation. The uncertainty is devastating, but we’re determined to give Koa the best.

Koa is more than just a pet—he's family. He's a smart, loyal companion who’s been by my side through everything. He knows tricks like "bow" and "park it" and loves classic dog activities—digging, car rides, fetch, and rolling in the grass. Once a social butterfly, Koa now sticks to a close group of dog friends but remains a people-loving pup, happiest when visiting his favorite spot, Tiger's Tap.

The thought of losing Koa is unbearable, but the financial burden of his care is overwhelming. We've spent $1,500 so far, with another $3,500 needed for tests, and costs will rise with surgery or treatment. We're asking for your help—any amount will directly support Koa.
