About this campaign
6 years ago we lost our cocker spaniel. A month after we lost her we adopted Kobe from the local humane society. He was 1 year old. He had been returned twice for being deemed a sick dog (he had just had surgery to be neutered and was affected by the sedation.) We did not care so we adopted him. He has not been sick once in the years we have had him till now.
3 months ago a growth began to show on Kobe's hindleg. We did not think anything of it at first, just thought it was the lumps and bumps of aging. Then he began to have trouble walking on the leg. We got an organization locally to help us take him to the vet and got an examination with xrays done. We found out he has synovial cell carcinoma. A slow growing type of tissue cancer. It is very rare.
Kobe is my husbands unofficial ESA dog. He comes to us when we are depressed, anxious etc. He loves to play with his puppy brother and sister despite having this cancer. He has been with us through thick and thin.
We are on a fixed income of just 1435 a month to pay for bills, and other needs. We are working with vocational rehab to get jobs. It would mean everything in the world to us to have more time with Kobe.
