About this campaign
Koda was bought from a backyard breeder to be a companion to my 8-year-old Great Pyrenees, as he seemed very bored. He is named after the little brother from the movie Brother Bear because it was one of my favorite movies growing up.
Koda was diagnosed with congenital Grade 4 Lateral Patellar Luxation in both hind legs. He also has sever ulnar and femoral deformity, both of which require extensive surgery and rehab. He is currently being treated and will undergo surgery at the Ryan Veterinary Hospital at UPenn.
Koda loves other dogs! He absolutely loves playing with his brother, but when his brother doesn't want to play, he often lays on his back and wiggles back and forth to catch his tail. He loves throwing his toys around as well, but most of all, he loves his time with his mommy and daddy, and loves it when he gets to lay down with Daddy for a nap.
The true amount of Koda's surgery costs were unexpected and much higher than previously believed. This surgery is required to improve Koda's quality of life, but at the moment it is not a surgery that we can afford.
