About this campaign
I rescued Koda in 2021 from a local shelter in Orlando, FL. Pretty quickly after I brought her home I started to piece together what she might have experienced with her previously family. I think she was neglected and maybe abused. She takes a while to warm up to people. Once she does, she loves them with her whole heart.
It's been three years since I adopted her. I have done everything I can to help her feel loved and safe in her new home. It's just the two of us. She loves napping, playing with her toys, and saying hi to friends of mine she has met over the years. She is still skittish of things she hasn't been exposed to and has learned to trust me more to help her navigate unknowns.
Koda is special because once she gets to know someone new, she loves you completely. When she sees a friend from a few years away, her whole body softens, and she gets so excited to say hi. And when she does say hi, she does so with big kisses and smushing her face against the other person's face.
Koda injured her leg back in November 2023. I didn't realize it was a leg injury until I took her to the vet and diagnosed her with cranial cruciate ligament tear. It was heart breaking to learn the seriousness of the injury. I decided to try physical therapy first to see if that could help rehab the leg. However, after some progress was made Koda has been regressing.
I am Koda's only parent and would appreciate any help and support in paying for this surgery. Koda misses going on walks and just being a dog and I want to provide her with a fulfilling life after what she has been through.
