About this campaign
I adopted Koi in 2009 from a backyard breeder at McKinney Trades day. She was the only pup in her litter and she was so skinny. She has been with me ever since and my first real baby. She now has a brother and little sister who she loves very much. Koi has always had her own personality and loves to cuddle but prefers to not be held. While this always kills me I’ve learned to respect her space.
Koi is the little old lady of the house. She can be grouchy but is really a good girl. She just loves her Daddy abs he is her favorite person although she turns to mommy when she is scared. Koi and Gram are a bonded pair but we added Khloé to the mix last year. My fear was the pug who lived the longest would be lonely once the other passes.
As most of our friends and family know we have been very fortunate but we are not only helping out parents and Grandma but we now have two pups that need expensive surgeries. Koi’s will be close to 3k and Khloé will be around 6k or more
Koi has had several minor issues the last few years. From ear infections, UTI’s, anal gland issues, and arthritis. She has been on medication for the last 3 years for her arthritis. Thanks to the amazing doctors we were able to get her on Galliprant which is safe for long term use. The downfall is it is 2x the cost of other similar meds. She is worth it!
Koi loves to be a shadow and boss the other two dogs around. She has lost some of her hearing and sight but that along with her arthritis has NOT stopped her from fulfilling her alpha dog position. She is a leader in all things, good and bad lol. I can’t imagine our grumble without her and I hope she is with us many many more years.
