About this campaign

We rescued Kona in 2016, he was 18 months old and completely emaciated. We brought him home and nursed him back to health. He is the sweetest ever. We don't know how anyone could treat him that way. We don't know much about his health before then besides he was male nourished. Since then he has been completely healthy. He is an indoor/outdoor pup. He loves walks and playing in all the lakes.

Kona is so down to earth and easy-going. He loves just being next to me. He will follow me around the house and sit next to me wherever I go. He loves our son and daughters. Our daughters will sit on his back and play with his ears and he loves the attention. He has another companion here Guhnner our German Shepherd they are best friends.

We were denied for Care Credit card in the middle of them doing an Ultrasound on his belly. We are a Military family who has been through a lot these last couple of years with costs related to the hurricane and losing my job due to COVID-19. We are only on one-income family.

He went to Emergency vet August 28, 2020, and they did x-rays and confirmed he has a mass in his tummy, his spleen has been enlarged, along with swollen lymph nodes throughout his body and severe anemia. I followed up with his primary care on Monday (yesterday) August 31, 2020, and they said it looks like Lymphoma. We were referred to an Oncologist Veterinary Specialty Hospital at 6405 Tryon Road

Kona is so special because he's a little piece of California for us and is this biggest love you ever have known. We are a Military family who has been through a lot being away from family and friends for the last 3.5 years. He has been our comfort and glue going through all this. When I was expecting the girl's hed share my snacks with me and rest his chin on my belly. He always smiling.
