About this campaign
Konin and I met at Oregon Humane Society in May of 2015. I was just going to "look" that day, I was in need of a second dog to help my other dog cope with separation anxiety. Konin came home with me that day after meeting his sister on the playground, and making sure they got along.
He was 8 when we met.
My husband and I separated 2 years ago and I am the sole custodian of the two pups. Kinin lives with me in a cute apartment in SE Portland. We go on two long walk per day, and he gets a little afternoon one from his best friend Larry, my dear neighbor.
I work full time, all the time, but at least he has a sister, her name is Taxi and they keep each-other company.
Between my separation, the cost of living in PDX as a single person, the pandemic, unemployment and the rest I simply cannot afford to pay for this. I will not be able to pay it back quickly, resulting in interest piling up for years.
I'm alone.
Konin has had an annual check every year since he's been with me. He's a healthy 15 year old. He has. quite a few lamps, but hey! He looks great doesn't he? The problem we have are his teeth. They need to be pulled, all of them. He's in pain right now and I can only afford to keep his pain at bay. The surgery is $2500
Konin has an hurray of anxiety ( leash, other dogs, food and people ). The report from the HS from his previous parents stated that he had never left the house in 8 years. He did not go on walks, parks or else. He pretty much lived a confined life style due to his behavioral problem. I have changed that for him when I adopted him. We go camping together, dog park, walks - he LOVES car rides!
