Put simply, Kotten chose us. Him and his siblings were being shown to a group and my mom so happens to be there. Everyone wanted him because he was the fluffiest but he ignored everyone and ran straight up to my mom. That day he went home with us and he’s been with us for 12 years. He's never left my side.

He’s been sick a couple times in his life but this is the first major accident he’s had. He was born with long spine so this could’ve happened at any point in his life but now that’s he’s older he’s more fragile. He was scared one day, jumped, and hit part of his spine causing a disk to slip, making him paralyzed from the waste down.

He’s the smartest, most lovable dog I’ve ever had. As crazy as it sounds he is registered as an emotional support animal and is my number one comforter. He’s very emotionally aware, every time I cry or even seem upset he knows and he will lay his head in your lap. Even with his old age he still acts like the biggest baby.

We have a very strict income with no rainy day fund . This was an heartbreaking unexpected paralyzation but could possibly be treated. We won’t know for sure if we can’t afford it. He’s our first and only family dog it would mean the world to see him run again.
