Koufax is a 6-year-old Yorkie in Van nuys, CA, who needs $1,828 for Cystotomy.

After a family member couldn’t care for Koufax anymore, (because their new apartment didn't allow pets), I knew I had to take him in. I wanted to keep him a part of the family and didn’t want him to go with a stranger. I never could have imagine that he would become my best friends and compete my life and my home.

Koufax is hyper and loves to play with his toys and barks until we play with him. He loves walks and is always curious of new surroundings and people. When not playing he loves to cuddle with mommy. He is so incredibly smart and knows where I hide the treats and nods his head towards them until I give in .

I have no emergency funds and unfortunately cannot afford this. I also recently had my job position eliminated and am trying to completed my masters program to get a better job.

I noticed something was off with Koufax, when all he wanted to do was sleep and seemed to lose his appetite. After doing x rays I was informed Koufax has bladder stones that cannot pass on their own, which happens in some male dogs. This has caused him a lot of pain and discomfort that sometimes prevents him from being his normal hyper and happy self. He is being treated at Van Nuys Vet Clinic.

Koufax is so smart and continues to amaze me at the things he understands or manages to communicate with me. He’s my best friends and mommy’s shadow . He’s the most loyal dog and even though he is so tiny, he is convinced it is his job to always protect mommy from strangers. He is my little security dog
