Kristi is everything you could hope for in a kitten. She’s a total love bug whose favorite place in the world is curled up on someone’s lap, soaking in pets and attention. She doesn’t ask for much — just warmth, affection, and the chance to be close to her people. She is the definition of the perfect lap cat. But behind her sweet personality is a frightening diagnosis.

Kristi has been found to have a heart murmur, and she urgently needs an echocardiogram to determine what’s happening inside her tiny heart and what treatment she may need. This specialized imaging is the only way veterinarians can understand the severity of her condition and create a plan to help her live a long, comfortable life.

Without this critical test, Kristi’s future is uncertain. In fact, without answers, she may be placed into hospice care — not because she’s ready to give up, but because we simply don’t know how to help her yet. That’s a heartbreaking reality for a kitten who is otherwise full of love and life.

7/14/26 Update

We wanted to share an update on our sweet lap-loving girl, Kristi.

After undergoing further evaluation, Kristi was confirmed to have a Grade 5/6 heart murmur. While this is a significant finding and her heart will need ongoing monitoring, we're happy to report that Kristi is feeling great and continues to enjoy life to the fullest.

She is currently thriving in her foster home, where her affectionate personality shines every single day. Kristi still loves nothing more than curling up in a warm lap, soaking up pets, and reminding everyone around her just how special she is. Despite her diagnosis, she remains happy, playful, and full of love.

We know there may be challenges ahead, but for now, Kristi is exactly where she needs to be—safe, loved, and receiving the care she deserves. Her foster family is making sure she is comfortable while keeping a close eye on her health, and she couldn't ask for a better place to continue her journey.
