About this campaign

We adopted our sweet Pomeranian puppy in Aug of 2024. We named him Kuma which means teddy bear in Japanese. When he came he was a fluff ball. We took him to his first haircut! He looks like a totally different dog! He lives with his 2 doggie sisters. Who love and watch over him!

Kuma was normal the first 2 weeks then began crying in pain at random times. Our vet gave him an X ray and diagnosed him with a rare genetic malformation in his neck called Atlantic-axial subluxation. Which means the first 2 vertebrae in his neck aren’t forming correctly and causing him extreme pain and he could be paralyzed if not stabilized by 6-8months of age he will need surgery.

Kuma is very laid back. He loves being held and sleeping in my hair or on my neck. He loves to eat and is growing so fast! He is just a puppy and deserves a chance at life! He cannot play for risking him further injury. The vet is keeping him sedated and on strict crate rest until surgery. Then again for 6 weeks after. He has a high success rate since his symptoms are mild now and he is so young!

We are working class and cannot afford the entire 9,000. We are able to contribute. We also applied at national animal organizations for help as well. This is a very unexpected situation. So far we have paid $1200 for his vet bills.
