Lady is a 10-year-old American Pitbull Terrier in Chicago, IL, who needs $2,000 for Surgery and radiation.

Lady stole my heart with just one look. She was rescued by a guy who stopped her previous owner from beating her. The hero put an ad on Facebook. When Lady came out of the room she was in I knew this was the canine companion I was looking for. I have had many dogs in my life but Lady is different. She is like the GI Joe character Lady J. Lady is strong, brave, curious, and highly intelligent.

Lady follows me around everywhere even the bathroom. She is my shadow. Lady lives the outdoors. She loves the game of fetch with sticks or a ball. I have to use 2 of them because she likes to play keep away when i reach for the ball. Lady loves to sun herself and roll in the grass. Lately she has slowed down. She could play all day but her cancer has taken its toll.

I am a US Army combat veteran that had just started a new job right before the pandemic hit. Now my hours are cut. I have already maxed out one credit card on Lady's first surgery. I can't afford another expense. If she stays in pain I will consider saying goodbye to my pup.

Lady has cancer. Aggressive sarcoma on her face. She has already undergone one surgery 7 weeks ago but the tumor has grown back. Lady has a personality that makes you smile. She is highly intelligent. I have taught her directions. On walks, i tell her left, right, straight, and back. When she really wants to go in a particular direction that I don't want to go, she will stop, look at me then the direction she wants to go. She is like and anchor until i agree to go in that direction. She has to see if the squirrels are out.
