About this campaign
We adopted Ladybug from the Humane Society a year ago. She was brought into the shelter as a stray. At that time, she was pregnant and had a hemangiosarcoma, a type of cancer, removed form her elbow. She currently lives with us in an apartment community, along with our two cats, whom she loves very much!
Ladybug was diagnosed with heartworm in March of this year. We're not sure when she got heartworm as she was on prevention after being treated at the Humane Society. It's possible we got it before going into the shelter as it can take up to 6 months before showing up on tests. She is being treated by Dr. Mabel at Michigan Avenue Animal Hospital.
Ladybug is the definition of a velcro dog! She loves all people and wants to be around them constantly. She loves to go for car rides anywhere and everywhere, as long as she's with her people. Her favorite activities are rolling around in the grass on a sunny day and letting the cats chase her tail. Ladybug is the best thing that ever happened to us and we just want to get her healthy again!
Ladybug's treatment will end up costing around $4,000. As recent college graduates, it's extremely hard to come with this much money in such a short time. Having Ladybug healthy again would mean the world to us, she's the best decision we ever made.
