Lainey is a 3 month old Dachshund in Neoga, IL, who needs $2,000 for Heart Surgery.

We got Lainey from my cousin whose dog had puppies. Lainey was unfortunately diagnosed with a PDA (heart murmur) at her vet check prior to coming home to us. We struggled over whether to take her because of the expense, but we instantly fell in love with her as soon as we met her. I knew immediately we had to do whatever it took to save her life.

Lainey was diagnosed with PDA, a heart murmur at only 8 weeks old. When you feel her chest, it feels as if her heart is vibrating. She needs surgery to correct it or she will only live 1-3 years. She is so full of life and joy and just meeting her you would never know she has this heart problem. She will be treated at U of I veterinary school, which is the closest cardiologist to us.

Lainey is so energetic. She loves to explore and meet new people and animals. She is so brave for being so young and small. She is a vocal little girl, mostly she whines when she needs something or wants attention. She has such a big personality and she loves her brother who we have living with us as well.

My husband was on workers compensation, which recently quit paying out, after we brought Lainey home. Lainey’s surgery will cost 4000-5000 dollars. Every day I worry that her heart will get overworked and something will happen to her.
