Lainey is a 10-year-old Walker hound in PASADENA, MD, who needs $2,000 for Cataract Surgery.

We got Lainey from my sister in N. Carolina at 6 weeks old. I was visiting and she sat on my feet all weekend so we fell in love. She had worms, fleas, ear infections and needed care. The rest is history. She lives in the house, mostly on the couch! She is loving and playful. Everyone loves her, she greets you at the door with big wags and waits for treats with patience.

Lainey just loves everyone. in 10 years we've never heard her growl at anything. She'll sleep in the bed if you let her but she settles for the couch and lays out flat on her back. She waits for visitors crying with excitement at the door and can't wait to be greeted. She loves the yard and waits for the squirrels so she can chase them. The rabbits outside make her absolutely crazy.

My husband and I receive a fixed income. Our financial situation is month to month. We do our best to make sure that Lainey receives the best vet care and medication so she can resume a healthy and normal life style. Having her vision back means everything to us.

Lainey's regular vet is Dr. Carpenter at Huffard Pet Hospital in Pasadena MD. Her Eye Vet is Dr. Weight at Eye Care for Animals in Annapolis, MD. She has diabetes since 2019 and then cataracts this year. Unfortunately her vision is very limited. She gets vetsulin twice a day and is on a diabetes diet. She will need to be on eye drops 2wks prior to surgery and immediately after.

Lainey looks forward the most to treat time. I can hide the treats anywhere and she can sniff them out. She will sit, lay, speak and play dead for treats. She gets impatient for her treat so much that she just does all her tricks at once so we don't make her go crazy. The cat plays with her and now that she's blind the cat hits and runs in a playful way and Lainey can't find her like she did.
